Pricing and profitability review

Being busy isn’t the same as making money. We look at each service, job and contract to find out which ones actually make a profit, which ones don’t and why, then help you fix the pricing and costs behind them.

What’s included

Profit by service, job or customer

We break your profit down so you can see exactly where it comes from.

The true cost of your work

Labour time, materials, travel and a fair share of overheads, not just the obvious costs.

Pricing check

We compare your prices with your real costs and the margin you need.

Quotes and contracts

We look at how you quote, fixed-price risk and how extras and variations are charged.

A clear action plan

Which prices to change, which work to rethink and which costs to cut, in order of impact.

How it works

Frequently asked questions

I’m busy all the time but never seem to make much. Is that normal?

It is very common, and it usually means some work is underpriced or costing more than you think. A profitability review shows you exactly where.

Will you just tell me to put my prices up?

Only if the numbers say so. Sometimes the answer is cutting a cost, changing how you quote or stopping a type of work that never pays.

Do I need management accounts first?

They help, but they aren’t essential. We can work from your records and bank statements.

How long does it take?

It depends on the size of the business. We agree the scope and timing on the first call.
